This orange cinnamon milk tea has become one of my favorite cozy drinks.

It’s the perfect blend of warm spices, citrusy brightness, and creamy comfort—like a hug in a mug.

I especially love making this when the weather cools down or when I just need something soothing and naturally sweet.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Soothing and aromatic with warm cinnamon and citrus

Naturally sweetened and easy to adjust to taste

Simple ingredients and quick prep

Cozy alternative to coffee or chai

Beautiful for brunch, afternoon tea, or winding down at night

What You’ll Need (Ingredient Highlights)

Black tea – Bold and rich, it provides the perfect base.

Orange peel – Adds a bright citrus note that complements the spices.

Cinnamon stick – Infuses the tea with warm, comforting flavor.

Brown sugar – Brings a subtle caramel sweetness.

Vanilla extract – Enhances the depth and aroma.

Milk – Makes it creamy and smooth. Use any milk you prefer.

Orange slice or peel – Optional garnish that adds elegance.

Pro Tips Before You Start

Use fresh orange peel—not dried—for the most vibrant flavor.

Don’t let the milk boil—just gently heat it to keep the tea smooth.

You can adjust the sweetness easily by adding more or less sugar.

Steep longer for a stronger tea flavor if desired.

Try it iced in the summer! Let the tea cool and pour over ice.

How to Make Orange Cinnamon Milk Tea

Step 1: Boil the Water
In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.

Step 2: Infuse the Spices
Add the peel of half an orange and 1 cinnamon stick to the boiling water.

Let it simmer gently for 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to release.

Step 3: Brew the Tea
Add the black tea bag (or loose leaf tea in an infuser) to the pot.

Steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

Remove the tea bag and strain out the orange peel and cinnamon stick.

Step 4: Sweeten and Flavor
Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla extract while the tea is still hot.

Mix until the sugar dissolves completely.

Step 5: Add the Milk
Pour in 1 cup of milk and gently reheat the tea for 2–3 minutes.

Do not bring it to a boil—just warm it through.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Pour the tea into your favorite mug and garnish with an orange twist or slice.

Sip and enjoy the cozy vibes!

What to Serve It With

Fresh baked scones or cinnamon rolls

A slice of orange pound cake or tea loaf

Toast with honey and butter

A quiet moment and a good book

Variations / Substitutions

Use oat milk or almond milk for a dairy-free version.

Add a pinch of ground cloves or nutmeg for deeper spice.

Swap black tea for rooibos or Earl Grey for a new twist.

Use maple syrup or honey instead of brown sugar.

Try it chilled over ice with a splash of orange juice for a summer version.

Storage & Leftovers

This tea is best enjoyed fresh, but you can refrigerate leftovers for up to 2 days.

Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave—avoid boiling.

You can also serve leftover tea over ice for a refreshing twist.

FAQs

Can I use bottled orange juice instead of orange peel?
No, the fresh peel adds aromatic oils that juice doesn’t provide.

Is this tea caffeine-free?
Not if you use black tea. Use rooibos or herbal tea for a caffeine-free version.

Can I make a bigger batch?
Yes! Just multiply the ingredients accordingly and steep everything in a larger pot.

What’s the best milk for this recipe?
Whole milk, oat milk, or vanilla almond milk work wonderfully.

Can I skip the cinnamon stick?
You can use a pinch of ground cinnamon in a pinch, but the stick offers a smoother flavor.

Can I froth the milk?
Absolutely! Frothy milk makes this drink feel extra cozy and fancy.

Final Thoughts

There’s something deeply comforting about this orange cinnamon milk tea—the gentle citrus aroma, the cozy spice, and that creamy finish. I

t’s the kind of drink you’ll want to curl up with all season long.

Give it a try and let it warm you from the inside out.
