  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly add milk and cream, whisking until thickened.
  4. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  5. Stir in cheese until smooth. Remove from heat.
  6. Layer half the potatoes in the dish. Pour half the sauce over. Repeat.
