Ingredients
  

Vanilla Pudding
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 4 egg yolks beaten
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 48 vanilla wafers
  • 2 large bananas

Method
 

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour, and milk.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until thick and bubbly.
  3. Continue cooking and stirring for 2 more minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. Beat egg yolks in a small bowl. Slowly whisk in 1 cup of hot pudding to temper.
  5. Return the egg mixture to the pan, stirring constantly.
  6. Cook until it begins to bubble again.

Notes

  • Use firm, ripe bananas for best texture.
