- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine flour, sugar, salt, milk, egg yolks, and vanilla.
- Stir constantly until thickened (about 15–20 minutes).
- Arrange a layer of banana slices and vanilla wafers in the bottom of a serving dish.
- Pour half of the pudding mixture over the bananas and wafers.
- Repeat with another layer of bananas and wafers, then pour the remaining pudding on top.
- Crumble a few vanilla wafers and sprinkle over the top.
- Chill before serving for best flavor and texture.
