Method
- Layer vanilla wafers in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish, bowl, or trifle dish.
- Slice a banana and layer it over the cookies.
- Repeat with more cookies and bananas to create 2–3 layers.
- Spread vanilla pudding evenly over the top layer.
- Chill for at least 1 hour.
- Garnish with crushed wafers or whole cookies and banana slices before serving.

Notes
- For best texture, assemble the pudding no more than 24 hours before serving to prevent bananas from browning.
- Instant or homemade vanilla pudding both work well.
