- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour an 8.5×4.5-inch loaf pan or spray with baking spray.
- In a large bowl, mash bananas and mix with melted butter.
- Add sugar, egg, and vanilla; stir well.
- Sprinkle in baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix to combine.
- Add flour and walnuts or chocolate chips.
- Stir just until no flour remains.

Notes
- Super ripe bananas with lots of brown spots give the best flavor and moisture.
- You can reduce the sugar slightly if your bananas are very sweet.
