These Caprese Salad Skewers are a simple and stunning appetizer made with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and fresh basil leaves. Skewered onto toothpicks and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze, they’re the perfect finger food for gatherings, holidays, or a light summer snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 8 oz mozzarella balls ciliegine or bocconcini
  • 15 –20 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze or homemade reduction
  • Toothpicks or small wooden skewers

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry tomatoes and basil. Drain mozzarella.
  2. Assemble skewers: tomato, folded basil, mozzarella.
  3. Arrange on a platter. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add balsamic glaze before serving. Serve chilled or at room temp.

Notes

• Ciliegine mozzarella works best for uniform size, but you can cut larger bocconcini in half if needed.
• Fold larger basil leaves for easier skewering and prettier presentation.
• For homemade balsamic glaze: simmer ½ cup balsamic vinegar with 1 tbsp honey until reduced by half.
