Caprese Skewers with Balsamic Glaze

These caprese skewers are an easy and elegant appetizer, made with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and basil leaves, then finished with a homemade balsamic reduction. Refreshing and flavorful, they’re perfect for entertaining or light snacking.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls bocconcini or ciliegine
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Toothpicks or small skewers

Method
 

  1. In a small saucepan, simmer balsamic vinegar over medium-low heat until reduced by half. Set aside.
  2. Assemble skewers with one tomato, one basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball each.
  3. Arrange skewers on a platter. Drizzle and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Just before serving, drizzle with balsamic reduction.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought balsamic glaze to save time.
  • For extra color, use heirloom or mixed-color tomatoes.
  • Make up to a few hours ahead—just cover and refrigerate.
