Method
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Thinly slice the potatoes.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, season, and cook until browned.
- Grease a baking dish. Layer half of the potatoes, half the beef, and half the cheddar. Repeat layers.
- Pour beef broth (and milk, if using) over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 35–40 minutes.

Notes
• Slice potatoes as evenly and thinly as possible so they cook uniformly.
• The milk helps make it a little creamier but can be skipped.
• Use lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey if preferred.
