Cheesy Ground Beef

With thinly sliced potatoes, juicy ground beef, and two kinds of cheese, this cheesy ground beef and potato casserole is the ultimate comfort food. It’s easy to prep, baked in one dish, and perfect for a hearty family dinner.

Ingredients
  

For the Casserole:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 –5 medium potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup milk optional
For the Seasoning & Cheese:
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Thinly slice the potatoes.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef, season, and cook until browned.
  4. Grease a baking dish. Layer half of the potatoes, half the beef, and half the cheddar. Repeat layers.
  5. Pour beef broth (and milk, if using) over the top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 35–40 minutes.

Notes

• Slice potatoes as evenly and thinly as possible so they cook uniformly.
• The milk helps make it a little creamier but can be skipped.
• Use lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey if preferred.
