This grilled chicken sandwich is marinated for flavor, grilled to juicy perfection, and layered with Colby Jack cheese, crispy bacon, and a sweet-savory sauce on toasted multigrain buns. Just like the Chick-fil-A version—but made in your own kitchen.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 2 slices Colby Jack cheese
  • Lettuce and tomato slices
  • 2 multigrain sandwich buns
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Method
 

  1. Marinate chicken in milk, pickle juice, sugar, and seasonings for 1+ hours.
  2. Cook bacon until crisp. Set aside.
  3. Grill chicken until 165°F internal temp. Rest briefly.
  4. Mix mayo, BBQ sauce, and honey.
  5. Toast buns. Assemble sandwich: sauce, lettuce, tomato, chicken, cheese, bacon, top bun. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness before marinating for quicker, more even cooking.
  • Use turkey bacon or plant-based bacon to lighten it up.
