Chicken Parmesan

This easy Chicken Parmesan recipe features juicy breaded chicken breasts, golden-fried and baked in marinara sauce under a blanket of melty mozzarella and parmesan. It’s an Italian-American favorite that’s perfect for weeknights or guests!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Slice and pound chicken evenly.
  2. Set up dredging stations: flour, eggs, and breadcrumb-parmesan mixture.
  3. Bread the chicken: flour → egg → breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry until golden on both sides.
  5. Spread marinara in a baking dish, add chicken, top with more sauce and cheese.
  6. Bake uncovered 15–18 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve.

Notes

  • Use a meat mallet to ensure even thickness and faster, more even cooking.
  • Fresh mozzarella adds an extra gooey layer, but shredded works just as well.
  • Panko breadcrumbs give extra crunch if you prefer them to traditional ones.
