Method
- Prepare crust and chill. Preheat oven to 425°F.
- In saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour.
- Stir in water and sugar, boil, then simmer 3 min.
- Toss sliced apples with cinnamon. Pour sauce over apples and stir.
- Roll out bottom crust and transfer to pie plate. Add apple mixture.
- Cut second crust into strips and make lattice top. Brush with egg wash.
