Copycat Big Mac Recipe

This copycat Big Mac features juicy ground beef, chopped onions, classic pickles, and homemade McDonald’s-style secret sauce. It’s all stacked high on sesame buns with crisp lettuce and American cheese—creating the ultimate double-decker burger that tastes just like your fast-food favorite, but better!

Ingredients
  

Ground Beef Mixture
  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef 85/15
  • ½ yellow onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup hamburger pickles chopped
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse ground pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
McDonald’s Secret Sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup French dressing
  • 2 tablespoons sweet relish
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • teaspoon salt
To Assemble (Double Decker)
  • 8 sesame seed hamburger buns
  • 2 cups iceberg lettuce shredded
  • 12 hamburger pickle chips
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • Additional secret sauce optional

Method
 

  1. Brown ground beef halfway, add onions, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Finish cooking beef, stir in pickles.
  3. Mix secret sauce ingredients.
  4. Add 1 cup sauce to beef, reserve remainder.
  5. Toast buns, assemble burgers in double layers with sauce, lettuce, beef, pickles, cheese.

Notes

• Use a burger ring or mold to keep beef patties uniform if desired.
• The sauce can be made 1–2 days in advance for even better flavor.
