Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup beer your choice
  • 1 pint vegetable oil
  • 2 cups jalapeño peppers sliced (about 5–6 large)
  • Kosher salt optional (for seasoning after frying)

Method
 

  1. Cut jalapeños into spears or sticks, removing seeds if desired.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, eggs, and beer until smooth.
  3. Adjust consistency if needed.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 365°F.
  5. Dip jalapeños into the batter, coating fully.
  6. Fry until golden brown and floating on top of the oil.
  7. Drain on paper towels and season with extra salt if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Removing seeds will significantly reduce the heat level.
  • For extra crunch, you can double-dip the jalapeños in batter before frying.
