This easy homemade taco seasoning is a bold blend of chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, and just the right kick from cayenne and red pepper flakes. It’s perfect for seasoning taco meat, beans, veggies, and more—no preservatives, just pure flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano Mexican if available
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper

Method
 

  1. Add all ingredients to a small bowl.
  2. Stir until well combined.
  3. Transfer to an airtight container.
  4. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Notes

  • Want it milder? Omit the cayenne and reduce red pepper flakes.
  • This blend is also great for seasoning roasted potatoes, fajitas, soups, or breakfast scrambles.
  • Kosher salt provides great balance, but feel free to adjust based on your taste.
