- Preheat oven to 350°F. Smear butter in 9×13-inch dish, add sliced peaches and sugar.
- Mix butter, sugar, vanilla, flour, baking powder, and salt to form batter.
- Spoon topping over peaches.
- Bake 30 minutes, then top with turbinado sugar.
- Bake another 10–15 minutes, broil briefly until golden.
- Let cool 20–30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes
• If your peaches are very ripe, you may skip the cornstarch.
• Frozen or canned peaches (drained) can be used when fresh are out of season.
• Turbinado sugar adds a caramelized crunch but is optional.
