Ingredients
  

  • tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 lb thinly sliced beef
  • small onion sliced
  • 2 bell peppers sliced
  • 2 cups button or baby bella mushrooms sliced (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded provolone or slices
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoon garlic salt or salt + garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Heat oil in a large oven-safe skillet.
  2. Sear beef with garlic salt and pepper until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In same skillet, cook bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms until soft.
  4. Add Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and cream cheese. Stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Return beef to skillet and combine well. If needed, transfer to a baking dish.

Notes

  • Ribeye or sirloin gives the most authentic cheesesteak flavor.
  • Skip mushrooms if you want to stay traditional.
