Ingredients
  

For the Donuts
  • ½ cup warm water
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 tsp dry active yeast
  • ½ cup + 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 5 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • cups all-purpose flour
For the Maple Glaze
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp milk
  • 1 Tbsp corn syrup
  • 2 tsp maple extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Method
 

  1. Combine warm water, warm milk, 1 Tbsp sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy (10 mins).
  2. In a stand mixer, combine flour, sugar, salt, eggs, and yeast mixture. Mix.
  3. Add softened butter and mix 8 mins until smooth and elastic.
  4. Transfer dough to greased bowl, cover, and rise for 1 hour.
  5. Punch down dough, cover again, and let rise another hour.
  6. Roll dough into ¾-inch rectangle. Cut into 12 bars.
