Ingredients
  

For the Steak:
  • 2 ribeye or New York strip steaks about 1 inch thick
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2.2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves smashed
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary optional
For the Haunted Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2.5 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1.2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Pat steaks dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high.
  3. Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
  4. In the final minute, add butter, smashed garlic, and herbs. Baste steaks with melted butter.
  5. Transfer steaks to a plate, tent with foil, and let rest.

Notes

  • Letting steaks rest before slicing keeps them juicy.
