Homemade Dill Pickle Tartar Sauce

With just a few pantry ingredients, this homemade dill pickle tartar sauce comes together in minutes and tastes even better after chilling. Perfect for fish, fries, or even sandwiches!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickles finely diced (add a third tablespoon if desired)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon onion finely minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried dill
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch garlic powder about ⅛ teaspoon or less

Method
 

  1. Finely mince the onion and pickles if not already done.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors develop. Stir again before serving.

Notes

  • The longer it sits, the better it tastes—overnight is ideal!
  • Add extra pickle for more tang, or a splash of pickle juice for a thinner texture.
