Ingredients
  

Meatloaf:
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1.2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1.5 lbs. ground beef 80/20
Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1.5 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. In a small bowl, whisk egg, milk, and Worcestershire.
  2. In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mince the onion.
  3. Add ground beef, egg mixture, dry mixture, and onion to a large bowl.
  4. Gently mix until combined.
  5. Shape into a loaf (approx. 4x8 inches) on a rimmed baking sheet.
  6. Mix glaze ingredients in a small bowl. Spread evenly over the top and sides of the loaf.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, sauté the onion before adding to the mix.
  • Want even more moisture? Try adding ¼ cup grated zucchini or carrot to the meat mix.
  • This recipe can also be made with half ground pork for extra tenderness.
