Ingredients
  

For the Brownies:
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • cups granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • large eggs room temperature
  • tbsp lemon zest 2–3 lemons
  • cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 –3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • tbsp lemon zest

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar for 3–4 minutes.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in lemon zest, juice, and vanilla.
  6. Gently fold in the flour mixture until combined.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

Notes

  • For a stronger citrus flavor, increase lemon zest to 3 tablespoons.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric to the batter for a more golden hue (it won’t affect flavor).
  • Store glazed brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
