This pan-seared cod is golden, crispy-edged, and cooked to juicy perfection in under 15 minutes. A quick garlic butter drizzle and a squeeze of lemon take it over the top for a simple yet elegant dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cod fillets 6 oz each, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped (optional for garnish)

Method
 

  1. Pat cod dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear cod for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  4. Add butter and garlic, spooning over fish as it finishes cooking.
  5. Squeeze lemon juice over cod and garnish with parsley.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure the pan is hot before adding the cod for the best sear.
  • Don’t overcrowd the skillet—cook in batches if needed.
