Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • ¾ cup chopped onion
  • ½ green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns toasted, for serving

Method
 

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook ground meat, crumbling, until partially browned.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper.
  4. Cook until beef is fully browned and vegetables are soft.
  5. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  6. Lower heat to medium-low.
  7. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.
