Ingredients
  

For the steak:
  • 1 lb steak flank or sirloin
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
For the stir-fry:
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/8 cup diced garlic
  • 1/8 cup diced ginger
  • 16 oz spaghetti or stir-fry noodles
  • 16 oz broccoli
For the sauce:
  • 3/4 cup dark soy sauce low sodium
  • 1/2 cup honey or brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oyster sauce
  • 1/8 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp browning optional
For the slurry:
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Method
 

  1. Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, vinegar, and browning (if using).
  3. Mix cornstarch with water in a separate bowl to form a slurry. Add the slurry to the sauce.
  4. Marinate the steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, vinegar, and ginger powder.
  5. Heat sesame oil in a wok. Sear the steak until browned. Remove and set aside.
  6. In the same wok, sauté onions, garlic, and ginger.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add a drizzle of sriracha or red pepper flakes.
  • Swap broccoli with snap peas, bell peppers, or bok choy for variety.
