- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter for 3 to 4 minutes until very pale and creamy.
- Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk.
- Mix on low until mostly incorporated, then beat on high for another 3 to 4 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Adjust consistency with additional milk or sugar as needed.

Notes
- For extra-white frosting, beat the butter for longer and use clear vanilla extract.
