Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking dish with parchment.
- Roll out one pastry sheet slightly larger than dish.
- Transfer, prick with a fork, and bake 15–20 min until golden. Cool.
- For custard: Heat milk until simmering. Whisk sugar, cornstarch, and yolks.
- Slowly add hot milk, whisking constantly.
- Return to pan, cook till thickened. Stir in vanilla. Cool slightly.

Notes
